“Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” ,an excerpt from Upanishad, means “One Earth, One Family, One Future”, is now the title of India’s presidency of G20. The Commerce Society of Shri Ram College of Commerce organised The G20 Panel Discussion on 18th January, 2023. The event was held in the Sridhar Shriram Auditorium with a footfall of more than 400, including students from prestigious colleges like St. Stephens, Hindu, Hansraj, Gargi among others. The panellists were Mr Yogendra Kumar (Former ambassador and author), Mr Rajit Punhani (Secretary, Rajya Sabha Secretariat), Mr Abhinav Chandra (Project director and team head of Asian Development Bank funded project), Mr Ashish Sinha (Joint secretary G20, Ministry of external affairs) and Ms Mrinalini Shrivastava (IPS, Director G20 NDMA). While Ms Jivisha Joshi Gangopadhyay (Deputy secretary in logistic division) moderated the session. The Commerce Society was the first to hold a university-connect session with G20. The event received coverage from prominent media partners, including TheRepublic and NewsNation.
